It takes a good bit of organization to manage a household of 13 people. We have many systems in place to help a family of our size function well. Organization saves time, prevents stress and generally lends itself to a more pleasant home. Anyone can become organized; and whether you have one child or thirty children we highly recommend doing so. There are skills that any family can use in order to do this; and they are well worth the initial effort to develop them. We also understand that, in order to manage a household well, parents need time to be rejuvenated. We don’t believe that you need to “get away” from your children in order for this to happen. It is possible to be rejuvenated as a family; and we experience this once each week by taking a Sabbath rest for ourselves. Finally, in order to have a well-organized household, it is necessary for all family members to understand the importance working together and serving each other. Even young children should be taught this attitude and can learn to ask, “What’s next, Mommy?” Include all members of the family when structuring the organization of the household. Everyone needs to have a place of service.
